FORUM WITHOUT WORDS 2006

Coal, Piano Wires, Wood, People, Sound and Actions
10 feet x 10 feet
2006

What is the potential of the space which forms the distance between words and experience?

Eight people are invited to participate in the Forum Without Words.
The room becomes an instrument. Piano wires are strummed by bursts of coal grit thrown on the hollow core wooden walls.
The wooden table top becomes a sounding board to listen carefully for the sounds conveyed through coal scratching and tapping on piano wires.
The space is navigated by my actions which introduce the people to the workings of the instrument.
